Dr. Sandra Rugama is originally from McAllen, Texas. She has a BA in Medical Humanities from Baylor University and a doctorate from the Kentucky College of Optometry. She has state licenses in Colorado and Texas.
Dr. Rugama sees a wide variety of patients but specializes in the fitting of conventional and specialty contact lenses as well as the treatment and management of ocular surface diseases including dry eye syndrome.
Dr. Rugama is a fluent Spanish speaker and has a passion for helping others. She volunteered for the Ret.Pray.Love. Foundation, an international organization that provides free eye exams to those in need.
During her free time, Dr. Rugama enjoys hiking, yoga, reading, and walking with her dog, Bagel.
